Francis G. Martin, 46, of 131 Oak St., Winchendon, died Thursday in his residence following an illness.
Born in St. Basil, NB, Canada on January 17, 1957, he was the son of Gerard F. and Cecile M. (Michaud) Martin.
He was a taxi driver and telephone operator employed by Smiley's Taxi of Gardner for 25 years until retiring this year. He previously was employed by Simplex Time Recorder Co. of Gardner.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and was a 4th degree member of the Bishop Beaven Assembly of Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Martin was a collector of eagle statues.
He leaves 1 son, Eric Martin of Winchendon; 1 brother, Paul L. Martin of Winchendon; 2 sisters, Solange J. Castonguay of Van Buren, ME and Lynne T. Gonzalez of Gardner; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, John Y. Martin who died last June.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols St., Gardner.

Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.

Calling hours at the funeral home are Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary School, 135 Nichols St., Gardner or to the Gardner Visiting Nursing Assn., Hospice Program, 34 Pearly Lane, Gardner, MA 01440.
