Esther M. (Moody) Heald, 81, of Fitchburg and formerly of Gardner, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 3, 2026.
Born in Searsport, Maine, on October 30, 1944, she was the daughter of the late James and Mae (Towers) Moody. Esther was employed as an assembler with Simplex Time Recorder for 30 years, dedicating herself to her work until her retirement.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles P. Heald.
A longtime parishioner of the Methodist Church in Maine, Esther found joy in life's simple pleasures. She enjoyed relaxing at home watching television, crocheting, and the occasional shopping trip. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her family, which meant the most to her.
Esther is survived by a son; Robert Heald of Maine; a daughter, Robin Smith of Gardner; three brothers, Paul Moody, and his wife Becky of Maine, Jim Moody of Maine, Earl Moody and his wife Helen of Maine; two sisters, Joyce and Brenda Moody of Maine; a grandson and his family with whom she spent her final days, Henry Vaillancourt and his wife Kelly, and their children, Haley, Braeden, Trenten and Delilah Vaillancourt; she is also survived by several additional grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
All services will be held privately for the family.
