Edward "Peewee" Tarmasewicz, 65, of Westminster, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 9, 2026, in UMass Memorial Medical Center-University Campus of Worcester after having complications from surgery.
Born in Winchendon on August 3, 1961, Edward was the beloved son of the Katherine (Jerome) Tarmasewicz of Westminster and the late Paul Tarmasewicz. He was a proud graduate of Gardner High School, Class of 1979. Edward was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a corrections officer at North Central Correctional Institute of Gardner for several years.
Edward was a longtime auxiliary member of the Westminster Veterans of Wars and a member of the Polish American Citizens Club of Gardner. He enjoyed many things in life, especially fishing and sports. An avid Boston sports fan, he proudly followed the Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics. Edward was also a talented softball player and enjoyed race cars and wrestling. He loved spending time with his friends, sharing laughs and making memories, but above all else, Edward cherished the time he spent with his family.
Beside for his mother, Edward is survived by a sister, Karen Kirkwood, of Westminster; beloved aunts and uncles, Darlene Babineau and her husband, Paul of Ashburnham, Diane Damien of Westminster, Judy Jerome of Florida, Jimmy Jerome and his wife, Joanne of Florida; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Kelly Cook and her husband Timothy of Arizona, Robert Kirkwood and his wife Joyce of Arizona and Tracy Gilman and her husband Scott of Phillipston; as well as several cousins, and many friends.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made under Edward's obituary on the funeral home website to help the family during their time of grief.
