Dorothy A. McKellick

Dorothy “Dot” A. (Cunningham) McKellick, 83, of Templeton, died peacefully Wednesday, June 8, 2022, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, surrounded by her family after a short illness.

Born in Gardner on December 25, 1938, she was the daughter of Edward and Dora (Bourgeois) Cunningham. She graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1955. Dot was employed by the Town of Templeton as a Police Dispatcher and most recently in the Highway Department for 32-years prior to her retirement in 2001.

Dot was a parishioner of St. Martin’s Catholic Church of Templeton. She was a member of the Templeton Food Pantry, where she loved to volunteer her time helping local families. Dot loved to take trips to the beach as well as the occasional visit to the casino. She also enjoyed learning and doing different types of crafts. But her greatest joy was when she was with her family, always treasuring the time spent together.

Dot is survived by her husband of 62 years Stephen D. McKellick of Templeton; a son, Timothy J. McKellick and his wife Mitsie of Mechanic Falls, ME; a daughter, Sharon L. Olson and her husband Jonathan of Westminster;  seven grandchildren, Daniel, Meghan, Thomas, and Katherine McKellick, Mary Garbarini, Brandi Caisse, and Britany Marie Woodhouse; eight great-grandchildren, Isaac, Aoibheann, Ona, Evangeline, Elijah, and Valentina McKellick, Cameron Woodhouse and Jackson Gallant; a sister, Ellie Doucette and her husband Fred of Lunenburg; a brother, Richard Cunningham and his wife Kathy of Maryland; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by a sister, Carol Bernard.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2022, from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Martin’s Catholic Church, 248 State Road, Templeton, MA. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA.

Calling Hours will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
