Dorothy J"Dot" Boucher

Dorothy J. "Dot" (Sawin) Boucher, 82, of Hubbardston, formerly of Gardner, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 in her daughter Nancy's home, following a period of declining health.
Born in Gardner on September 15, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Oren and Julia (Parnarowski) Sawin.
Dorothy graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1952.
She was employed by Travers Printing of Gardner as the bookkeeper for several years, retiring in 2000. She was previously the office manager for Gardner Oil Company of Gardner.
Dorothy was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
She enjoyed writing poetry, walking, camping and playing Bingo. In her earlier years she enjoyed snowmobiling. Dorothy was a talented baker who made wedding cakes for her family, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald A. Boucher, who died in 1977.
She leaves one son, Ronald J. Boucher and his wife Linda of Rindge, NH; two daughters, Nancy C. Drouin and her significant other Jeffrey Marinelli of Hubbardston and Jeanne T. Boucher of Gardner; four grandchildren, Adam, Benjamin and Lisa Drouin and Crystal Howe; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She also leaves her special friend, Bucky Adams of Baldwinville. Dorothy was predeceased by two brothers, Oren and Robert Sawin; and by one sister, Katherine Pellerin.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 28th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 135 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday, June 28th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
