Obituary

Donald D. Taylor, 80, of Templeton, died peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following an illness.

Born in Gardner on September 25, 1945, he was the son of the late Lawrence G. and Alice B. (Miller) Taylor. Donald spent many years working as a sporting goods salesman, employed by several area sporting goods retailers, a career that reflected his lifelong passion for the outdoors.

Donald was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a true outdoorsman at heart. He especially enjoyed shooting sports and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He took great pride in building archery equipment, a skill that combined his patience, precision, and love of craftsmanship. Above all else, Donald's greatest joy was his family. He cherished the memories made together and the many laughs shared throughout the years.

Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Susan L. (Fournier) Taylor of Templeton; a son, Scott A. Taylor and his wife, Leaugey, of Eureka, TX; a daughter, Jennifer L. Barnes of Templeton; a grandchild, AJ Watson of Winchendon; a brother, Wayne Taylor and his wife, Anneliese, of Maryland; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Taylor.

Graveside Services at Pine Grove Cemetery, Patriots Road, Templeton, will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
