Donald Champagne, 71, of Fitchburg, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, in UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester following an illness.
Born in Northampton on October 21, 1953, Donald was the son of the late Francis and Muriel (Rallinston) Champagne. He was a 1971 graduate of Chicopee High School. Donald dedicated many years of service as the Cemetery Superintendent for the Fitchburg Department of Public Works.
Donald was a Life Member of the Templeton Fish and Game Club in Templeton. A passionate outdoorsman, he enjoyed recreational shooting, fishing, and spending time in nature. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Marlene (Johnson) (Blakley) Champagne of Fitchburg, three sons; Joshua Champagne of Fitchburg, step son Paul Johnson of Gardner, and step son Brian Brentley of Leominster; a step daughter, Carla LeBlanc and her husband Bryant of Gardner; six grandchildren, several great grandchildren; two brothers, Mark Champagne and his wife Linda of Chicopee, and Jeffrey Champagne and his wife Cheryl of Perryville, Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents, Donald was also predeceased by his sister, Lisa Champagne.
Graveside Services will be held Monday, August 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Wildwood Cemetery, 900 West Street, Gardner, MA,
