Daniel F. Urato, 62, of Gardner, died unexpectedly Thursday, July 25, 2024, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner. 

Born in Marlborough on February 19, 1962, he was the son of the late James V. and Jean P. (Laraveir) Urato. He graduated from Marlborough High School and enlisted in the United States Army, serving as a medic from 1980 to 1987, where he received the Army Service Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the NCO Professional Development Ribbon. 

Daniel was a member of Project Healing Waters and volunteered working with his fellow veterans at the Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center in Gardner. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, fly fish, and hike. Daniel also loved photography, computer work, and traveling. 

Daniel is survived by his wife, Michelle A. (Spofford) Eaton-Urato of Gardner; two children, Forest and Daynielle Urato; three step children, Angel, Damien, and Aiden; one sister Ann. 

Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held Monday, August 26, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA 01475
