Daniel J. LeBlanc, 81, of Sterling, died peacefully Monday, June 22, 2026, at Sterling Village, after a period of declining health.
Born in Gardner on March 9, 1945, he was the son of the late Lionel J. and Ruth M. (Carter) LeBlanc and the brother of the late David J. LeBlanc. He graduated from Narragansett Regional High School with the Class of 1963, where he was a member of the Future Farmers of America. He then enlisted in the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam Era from 1966 to 1969, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He was previously employed as a manager and snowmaker at Wachusett Mountain and as a mechanic at Bert's Garage in Westminster. An avid outdoorsman, Daniel loved staying active through hunting, fishing, and skiing. He also enjoyed spending time on the golf course.
Above all, his greatest joy in life was spending time with and working with veterans. He was a member of VFW Post 7389 of Westminster, the American Legion of Westminster, and AMVETS Post 2012 of Westminster. At the time of his death, Dan was commander of Westminster AMVETS post 2012. He was a past commander of Westminster, American Legion Post 174, and he was an active member of the Westminster VFW Post 7389 where he worked as the canteen manger for many years.
Daniel is survived by his sister, Kimberley Dolan and her husband, Timothy, of Westminster; three nieces, Kelley, Audrey, and Katie Dolan; and several cousins.
Calling Hours will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Funeral Services will follow in the funeral home at 12:00 p.m.
Burial to follow with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
