Clarence J Cormier

Clarence J. "PEI" Cormier, 90, of Gardner, died peacefully Monday, March 6, 2017 in Baldwinville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Baldwinville, surrounded by his family.
Born in Notre Dame, N.B. Canada on June 4, 1926, he was the son of the late Hector and Ida (Goguen) Cormier.
Clarence served in the Canadian Army from 1944 through 1946.
He was employed in the mill of Van Huffel of Gardner for many years, retiring in 1984.
Clarence was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. He was also a member of the Acadien Social Club of Gardner.
Clarence loved scratch tickets and trips to the casino. He enjoyed dining out, going for car rides, and playing cribbage and cards.
He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Doris M. (Melanson) Cormier, who died March 14, 2015.
Clarence leaves four sons, Michael Cormier of Balsam Grove, NC, Gary Cormier and his wife Joyce of Gardner, Ricky Cormier and his wife Linda of Ayer, and Kevin Cormier of Phillipston; four daughters, Nancy Girouard and her husband Rheal of Gardner, Cathy Leger and her husband Marcel of Gardner, Patricia Johnson and her husband Ovile of Gardner, Rosemarie Norway and her husband Marvin of Gardner; two brothers, Raymond Cormier and his wife Gabrielle of Notre Dame, N.B. Canada, and Ernest Cormier of St. Antoine, N.B. Canada; two sisters, Georgina Leger of Notre Dame, N.B. Canada, and Beatrice Leblanc of Notre Dame, N.B. Canada; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; several nieces, nephews, cousins, step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Denise Brewer who died in 2001; six brothers, Donald, Alphee, Nyl, Aldege, Gerald and Leo Cormier; and one sister Cecile Cormier.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 10th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 9th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
