Claire (Plouffe) Beauregrd, 89, of Gardner, died peacefully Wednesday, September 13, 2017, in Baldwinville Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born in Winchendon on April 22, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Jane (DesRosiers) Plouffe.
Claire graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1946.
She was employed by the Book Corner as a clerk for many years, retiring in 1992.
Claire was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
She was a free-lance artist of oil and acrylic paints, and had won several Blue Ribbons. She was a member of the Gardner League of Artists. She also enjoyed floral arranging and she loved to socialize.
Claire was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Leonard "Smitty" J. Beauregard, who died August 17, 2005.
She leaves five sons, James "Jim" Beauregard and his wife Michelle of Springfield, MA, Thomas Beauregard and his wife Mary of Hubbardston, Andre Beauregard of Rindge, NH, John Beauregard of Fitchburg and Timothy Beauregard of Gardner; one brother, Arthur Plouffe and his wife Leona of Gardner; one sister, Hermine Eaton of Templeton; ten grandchildren, Jamie Lee, Alan, Carrie, Brandon, Lauren, Cristina, Andre, Renee, Rosemary and Justin; one great-granddaughter, Rosalie; several nieces and nephews. Claire was predeceased by one brother, "Sonny" Plouffe; and four sisters, Geraldine Collins, Irene Hamel, Priscilla Hamel and Theresa Overstreet. She also leaves the nurses and staff of Baldwinville Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center whom she serenaded with her singing, and she loved them all dearly for the utmost care and compassion they showed to her.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 19th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Tuesday, September 19th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association, 260 Cochituate Road, Framingham, MA 01701. Please reference in memory of Claire Beauregard.
