Christine K. Pohl

Christine K. (Lehtinen) Pohl, 77, of Baldwinville, died peacefully Monday, January 8, 2024, in Dodge Park Rest Home, Worcester, after a long health battle.

Born in Fitchburg on July 17, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Toivo and Jennie (Salerno) Lehtinen. She graduated from Fitchburg High School with the Class of 1965. Christine was employed by Verizon for many years prior to her retirement in 2002.

Christine will be remembered for her deep love for her family, especially her grandchildren, moving to Templeton shortly after their birth to spend as much time as possible with them. She loved family gatherings around the holidays, weekly outings with her sisters and cherished each and every member of her large extended family.  Her other passions included gardening, cooking, antiquing, traveling, spending colder months in Florida, and was a devout churchgoer.

Christine is survived by her daughter, Jaime Hodges and her husband John of Baldwinville; two grandchildren, Kailyn and Zachary Hodges; three sisters, Anita Gaunt of Ashburnham, Kathleen Lehtinen of Leominster, and Susan Howlett of Shirley; a brother, Bruce Lehtinen of Ashburnham; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased a sister, Janine DeLorme; and two brothers, Roger and David Lehtinen.

Calling Hours will be held Friday, January 12, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Goodrich Street, Fitchburg, MA, at a later date.
