Chester F"Chet" Karpeichik

Chester F. "Chet" Karpeichik, 68, of Phillipston, died peacefully Monday, February 12, 2018 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center of Worcester, after being stricken ill at home.
Born in Clinton, MA on August 8, 1949, he was the son of the late Chester and Stephanie (Pupecki) Karpeichik.
Chet graduated from Clinton High School with the Class of 1967, where he was an exceptional athlete excelling in both baseball and football. He earned his certification in business from Andover Institute of Business in 1969.
Chet was employed by Unitil of Fitchburg as a meter reader for 17 years, retiring in 1997. He was formerly employed by Raytheon Company of Wayland.
He was a member of Holy Cross Church of East Templeton; and he was an Associate Member of the Polish American Veterans Club, Post 292 of Clinton.
Chet was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing with his son Matthew at the Quabbin Reservoir and the Merrimack River. He also enjoyed hunting and blueberry picking. Chet was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox and all Narragansett sports. He loved going to the former Stanley's Lunch in Gardner; and his all-time favorite companions were his cat 'Rocky', and his dogs 'Cooper' and 'Gus'. Chet treasured spending time with granddaughters, Grace and Lillian, whom he adored.
He leaves his wife of 44 years, Isabelle F. (Duplacy) Karpeichik of Phillipston; one son, Matthew R. Karpeichik of Phillipston and his significant other Michelle Croswell of North Reading; one daughter, Allison M. Karpeichik-Hill and her husband Noah J. Hill of Templeton; one brother, Thomas A. Karpeichik of New Hartford, CT; two granddaughters, Grace I. Hill and Lillian P. Hill; uncle, Eddie Karpeichik of Maynard; nieces and nephews, Pam Blomquist, Cheryl Whalen, Thomas Karpeichik, Christopher Karpeichik, Lenny LeBlanc and Joel LeBlanc; several cousins, including one very special one, Teddy Ellis; and several great nieces and great nephews. Chet was predeceased by his sister, Judith A. Lizotte.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 24th at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner.
There are no calling hours. Friends and family are asked to report directly to the church the morning of the service.
