Bruce R. Fontaine, 64, of Baldwinville, died peacefully Wednesday, December 22, 2021, in UMass Memorial Medical Center—University Campus, Worcester.

Born in Gardner on February 2, 1957, he was the son of the late Wilfred E and Dorothy (Reed) Fontaine. Bruce was the Owner and Auto Mechanic at Fontaine’s Garage for many years prior to his retirement in 2013.

Bruce was a car enthusiast. He spent a lot of time repairing his own cars, and rebuilding cars. Bruce had a knack for building things for around the house and cooking. He loved to take “Sunday Drives” where he visited many places throughout his life and taking his dogs for walks. Bruce’s most treasured time, though, was spent with his family.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 36-years, Janette M. (Gallant) Fontaine of Baldwinville; two sons, Jason Fontaine and his wife Melody of Ludlow and Michael Fontaine of Baldwinville; two grandchildren, Cassidy and Bradley Radziewicz; a great-grandchild, Adeline Cruz; two brothers, Wayne Fontaine and his wife Cindy of Otter River, and Joseph Fontaine and his significant other Cindy Meunier of West Virginia; a sister, Sherry Fontaine and her significant other John Whipple of Baldwinville; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by a sister, Kathleen Hayn Lata.
