Bertha M. (LeBlanc) Prentiss, 73, of Gardner, died Wednesday, December 21, 2022, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, after a long battle with cancer with her family her side.
Born in Saint- Antoine, New Brunswick, Canada, on October 20, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Henri J. and Aurore M. (Legere) LeBlanc. Bertha was a Maintenance Worker employed by Walmart for 14-years prior to her retirement in 2011.
Bertha was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. She enjoyed playing BINGO and scratch tickets, going to the casino, crocheting, working on puzzles, and spending time in her garden. Bertha’s greatest joy and true treasure was her family embracing all the special moments they had together.
Bertha is survived by a daughter, Jessica Prentiss of Baldwinville; four grandchildren, Hope Prentiss, Matthew Stowell, Jacob, and Jamie Gallant; three great-grandchildren, William Foskey, Adisson Gallant, and Matthew Stowell Jr.; three sisters, Corrine Bouchard and her husband Roger of Gardner, Jeannita Richard and her husband David of Gardner, and Annette Melanson and her husband Victor of Gardner; two brothers, Leo and Cleo LeBlanc; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Giselle Gallant; a grandson, Shayne Prentiss; and four brothers, Louis, Omer, Edmond, and Herve LeBlanc.
Funeral Services will be held Friday January 6, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial at Notre Dame Cemetery will be held at a later date.
A Calling Hour will be held Friday, January 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
