Bertha M. “Cookie” Bagdonas, 76, of Gardner, died peacefully Tuesday, May 7, 2019 in UMASS Memorial HealthAlliance – Clinton Hospital, Leominster, surrounded by her family, following a long illness.

            Born in Gardner on September 19, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Rene and Annette (Richards) Laliberte.

            Cookie graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1959. She was employed as a shipping clerk by Simplex Time Recorder of both Gardner and Westminster for 29 years, retiring in 2005.

            She was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.

            Cookie loved spending time at the casinos, playing Bingo, playing games on her computer, and traveling to Atlantic City. She enjoyed taking long car rides, and in her earlier years she also enjoyed motorcycle riding. Cookie loved quality time spent by the pool with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, dining out, and was a huge fan of the New England Patriots. She adored her special companion, her dog “Buddy”; and she loved listening to her favorite song “All Summer Long” by Kid Rock.

            Cookie leaves her husband of 58 years, Charles W. Bagdonas of Gardner; daughters, Julie A. Bagdonas of Westminster and Jill M. Drury of Onset, MA; sister, Therese Salame and her husband George of Lancaster; brothers, Louis Laliberte of Gardner and James Laliberte of Otter River; grandchildren, Ryan Winslow and his wife Megan, Alicia Dube and her husband Shawn, Corey Reimers, Christopher Reimers, Chelsea Drury and her fiancé Joseph Karmen; great-grandchildren, Jaikob, Jaelynn, Julianna, Addysen, Aubree, Ella and Joey; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Ronald Laliberte; and sisters, Renette Laliberte and Betty Williamson.

            Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 15th at 12:00 p.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner.

            A calling hour will be held Wednesday, May 15th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

            Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 300 Fifth Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451. Please reference in memory of Bertha M. Bagdonas.
