Antonetta L. "Toni" Ares

Antonetta L. "Toni" (Fiorentino) Ares,90, loving wife, mother and grandmother, formerly of 220 Park Street, Gardner, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2018 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home of Gardner.
Antonetta was born on December 2, 1927 in Leominster. She was the daughter of Francesco and Giovanna (Cristalli) Fiorentino. She was a 1947 graduate of Leominster High School and lived most of her life in Gardner. Antonetta was employed by Standard Tool in Leominster, Florence Stove Company, Heywood Wakefield Company, and Goodnow-Pearsons Department Store of Gardner. After raising her family, she returned to work at Heywood Hospital, in the Housekeeping Department, retiring in 1990.
Antonetta was a talented craftsperson who enjoyed crafts, crocheting afghans, sewing, working wonderword puzzles, bingo, and watching the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins. She also treasured her time with her family.
Antonetta was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Arthur J. Ares, who died August 31, 2002.
She leaves two sons, Dr. Jeffrey J. Ares and his wife Catherine of West Chester, OH, and Glenn F. Ares and his wife Christine of Gardner; six grandchildren, Brian Ares, Adam Ares, Chris Coote, Faye Cadieux, Jamison Leger, and Jenay Leger; four great grandchildren, Jason Cadieux, and Jeremy Cadieux, Liana Leger, and Brady Leger; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Mike Fiorentino; and four sisters, Grace, Joanne, Lucy, and Rosalie.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 16th at 11:00 a.m. in Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St. Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 15th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
