Annette Bastarache

Annette (Cormier) Bastarache, 86, of Gardner, died peacefully, Friday, January 7, 2022, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

Born in Saint-Damien, New Brunswick, Canada, on June 5, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Odilon and Marie (Gaudet) Cormier. She received her GED from Mount Wachusett Community College in 1994. Annette was a Plastic Molder employed by E.B. Kingman of Leominster for 8-years prior to her retirement in 1997. She was previously employed by GEM Industries of Gardner.

Annette was a parishioner of Annunciation Parish/ Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner, where she was an active volunteer for its BINGO. She was an avid reader, BINGO player, and traveler—visiting many places throughout the years. Annette loved to work on puzzles and socializing with friends. Her greatest joy came from being with her family and friends, cherishing all the special times spent with them.

Annette is survived by her two daughters, Marianne Sargent of North Carolina, and Lisa Barrett and her husband Mark of Gardner; four sons, Robert Bastarache of Pensacola, FL, Rene Bastarache of Athol, James Bastarache and his wife Lynn of Shirley, and Michael Bastarache and his wife Susan of Parker, CO; ten grandchildren, Jacob, Adam, Jessi, Tracy, Melissa, Justin, Abby, Ashley, Timmy, and Amy; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Edith LeBlanc of Moncton, NB, Canada; two brothers, Romeo Cormier and his wife June of Templeton, Uclide Cormier of Texas; a sister-in-law, Lee Cormier of Leominster; a brother-in-law, George Scott of Fitchburg; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband of 56-years, Joseph R. Bastarache; a sister, Jeannine Scott; and a brother, Edward Cormier.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2022, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial will be held at Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA. All those in attendance are asked to report directly to the church on the day of the service.

There are no calling hours.
