Ann M. (Duplacy) Vautour, 89, of Gardner, died peacefully Friday, December 26, 2025, in her home, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Gardner on August 6, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Lionel and Ruth (LaPrade) Duplacy. Ann was a graduate of Gardner High School with the Class of 1954. She went on to enjoy a long and dedicated career at Heywood Hospital, where she was employed as a secretary for 16 years, retiring in 2009.
Ann was a devoted parishioner of Annunciation Parish of Gardner and an active member of the Mary Rivier Perpetual Adoration Chapel. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially working on crafts and spending quiet moments reading a good book. Above all, Ann's greatest happiness came from time spent with her family and friends, cherishing the many memories they shared together.
Ann is survived by her three daughters, Celeste A. Vautour of Athol, Denise M. LeBlanc and her husband Paul of Gardner, and Donna M. Edberg and her husband William of Connecticut; her son, David A. Vautour and his wife Donna of Swanzey, NH; eight grandchildren, Angela Dernalowicz, Justin Vautour, Stephen Vautour, Amy L. Gamble, Kasey LeBlanc, Lindsey LeBlanc, Emily Edberg, and Grey Edberg; four great-grandchildren, Patrick Rolfe, Benjamin Rolfe, Jackson Jalbert, and Henry Dernalowicz; a sister, Sylvia M. Kelley and her husband Thomas of New Hampshire; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Leo C. Vautour, who died in 2019; her son, Paul S. Vautour, who died in 2002; and her brother, Alan R. Duplacy.
A Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Funeral Services will follow from the funeral home with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Annunciation Parish, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, MA. Burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner, MA, will be held in the spring.
