Alice I. (Babineau) Murray, 84, 125 Connors Street, Gardner, formerly of 31 Middle Road, Gardner, died peacefully Friday, November 13, 2015 in her residence with her husband by her side, following a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born in Gardner on December 18, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Adelard and Laura (Careau) Babineau.
She was employed by New England Telephone and Verizon for 15 years. She was previously employed by Heywood Hospital of Gardner as a cafeteria worker.
Alice was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. She was also a member of the Pioneer Club of Verizon, a volunteer organization and service club made up of US and Canadian telecommunication industry employees and retirees.
Her greatest enjoyment in life was taking care of her husband of 50 years, Byron R. Murray.
Besides her husband she leaves one brother, George Babineau and his wife Eleanor of Gardner; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother, Guy Careau; and by one sister, Muriel Robinson.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 17th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.
A calling hour will be held Tuesday, November 17th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
