Adah M. (Rondeau) Lovejoy, 95, of Gardner, died peacefully Sunday, September 10, 2017 in Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Adah was born in Carthage, New York on May 2, 1922, the daughter of the late George and Ida (Yelle) Rondeau.
She graduated from Saranac Lake High School of Saranac Lake, NY with the Class of 1940. Adah worked as a volunteer nursing assistant during World War II during her high school years and following graduation. She later managed the 'fountain' at the Post Office Pharmacy in Saranac Lake.
Adah was a devout Catholic as a member of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Gardner, and a present member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
She loved children, and was a loving mother and devoted wife. Adah enjoyed gardening, dancing, cooking, reading, traveling and had a deep love of nature. She was an active volunteer in her community during her younger years. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to laugh, and treasured spending time with her family.
Adah was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Kenneth A. Lovejoy, who died April 4, 2013.
She leaves one son, Jeffrey A. Lovejoy and his wife Sarah of Florence, Oregon; two daughters, Patricia J. Ahlers of Essex, MA, and Catherine A. Bourgeois and her husband Peter of South Lake Tahoe, CA; two grandchildren, Jennifer Ahlers and Kelsey Ahlers; two nieces, one nephew and one cousin. Adah was predeceased by her brother, Rayfield Rondeau; and sister, Frances Coughlin.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 16th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, West Street, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Friday, September 15th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
