Leonard J. LeBlanc, 80, of Gardner, died peacefully Monday, July 22, 2019 in UMASS Memorial Healthalliance-Clinton Hospital, Leominster Campus, following a brief illness.
Born in St. Antoine, N.B. Canada on November 6, 1938, he was the son of the late Emery and Alice (Goguen) LeBlanc. He was raised in Canada and came to the United States in 1960. Leonard was an equestrian trainer for LeBlanc Stables of Gardner, which he co-owned and operated with his wife Noella for many years. He was also a member of the United States Trotting Association. Leonard was a horseman for over 40 years, and his happiest moments were spent racing and training horses.
Leonard was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner.
He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Noella M. (Cormier) LeBlanc who died in 2013.
Leonard leaves his sons, Steven J. LeBlanc and his wife Linda of Felton, DE, and Thomas R. LeBlanc and his fiancé Betsy of Worcester; daughters, Deborah M. Rosenblatt of Foxboro, and Joann M. McAvoy and her husband Bob of Foxboro; brothers, Orice LeBlanc and his wife Anne Marie, Elery LeBlanc and his wife Theresa, Lionel LeBlanc and his wife Anne Marie; sisters, Florine Lirette, Huberte Cormier and her husband Gerard, Florence LeBlanc, Carmella Poirier and her husband Robert, Wilma Despres and her husband Maurice; sister-in-law, Stella LeBlanc; seven grandchildren, Luc, Gillian, Samuel, Robert, Jeffrey, Jake and Charlotte; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Valmond LeBlanc.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 27th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Street, Gardner.
Calling hours will be held Friday, July 26th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
