Kenneth A Raymond

October 22, 1939 ~ July 2, 2019 (age 79)

Kenneth A. Raymond, 79, of Gardner, died peacefully Tuesday, July 2, 2019 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus of Worcester, surrounded by his family, following a long illness.

            Born in Winchendon on October 22, 1939, he was the son of the late Joseph and Alice (Engright) Raymond.  Ken graduated from Murdock High School of Winchendon with the Class of 1957. He was a Meat Cutter for over 50 years, and was employed by First National Stores, Inc., followed by IGA Supermarkets, and most recently by Mid-Town Beef Co., Inc. of Fitchburg for several years, retiring in 2016.

            Ken was a United States Vietnam War Army Veteran and received the Good Conduct Medal.

            He was a member of Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church of Gardner. He was previously a member of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of Gardner. He was also a member of the Swedish Social Club of Westminster.

            Ken enjoyed singing in the church choir, hunting with family, and was a huge hockey fan- especially of the Boston Bruins. He most enjoyed spending time with family.

            Ken leaves his wife of 58 years, Holly (Zetterberg) Raymond of Gardner; daughter, Robin A. Raimon and her husband Francis of Gardner; brother, Edward Raymond and his wife Mary of Gardner; grandchildren, Molly Raimon, Joseph Raimon and Miranda Raimon; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ken was predeceased by his brother, James Raymond; and sister, Joan Pineault.

            Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 8th at 10:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial with full Military Honors will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.

            Calling hours will be held Sunday, July 7th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
