Joann C (Flanders) Pepper

September 30, 1943 ~ December 28, 2018 (age 75)

Joann C. (Flanders) Pepper, 75, of Hubbardston, died peacefully Friday, December 28, 2018 in Quabbin Valley Healthcare of Athol.

                Joann was born in Fond du Lac, WI on September 30, 1943, the daughter of William and Dorothy (DelMarcelle) Flanders. She graduated from St. Mary’s Springs High School of Fond du Lac with the Class of 1960. Joann received her Diploma in Nursing from St. Agnes School of Nursing of Fond du Lac in 1964, and later received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from St. Joseph’s College of Maine in 1987.

                Joann was a Registered Nurse employed by North Central Human Services of Gardner for over 25 years, retiring in 2014.

                She was a member of Holy Spirit Church of Gardner where she was actively involved and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She enjoyed gardening, baking and was a huge supporter of her community. Joann treasured spending time with her family.

                Besides her mother, Dorothy (DelMarcelle) Flanders of Fond du Lac, WI, she leaves her husband of 52 years, Alexander L. Pepper of Hubbardston; son, David A. Pepper and his wife Julie of Simsbury, CT; daughters, Susan M. Jojola and her husband Bryan of Albuquerque, NM, Christine A. Ahlswede and her husband Eric of Fond du Lac, WI, and Julie A. Pepper and her husband John Harpin of Barre; brothers, John Flanders and his wife Pam of WI, Robert Flanders and his wife Cathy of PA, Richard Flanders and his wife Wendy of MI, and Charles Flanders and his wife Colleen of CA; sister, Mary Rotrekl and her husband Don of IL; grandchildren, Genesis, Lindsey, Alex, Zoey, Noah and Melody; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Joann was predeceased by her brothers, James, Anthony, and Joseph Flanders; and sister, Suzanne Flanders.

                Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 5th from the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols Street, Gardner with a Mass at 1:00 p.m. in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell Street, Gardner. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon at a later date.

                Calling hours will be held Saturday, January 5th from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
